Budget Router/Modem or Combo

Hi, I'm about to get Comcast's professional internet service, and i was wondering what Modem and/or Router i should get. Im balling on a budget right now and i need something that will connect all of my devices wirelessly with the best speed possible (cheaply).. I have about 3 laptops a desktop and 2 phones that will be connected to it daily.. Any help is appreciated, i'm pretty inexperienced with networking oh, and my desktop will be hooked up directly.

I also would like to know if shopping for routers/modems off of ebay is a bad idea.

I would recommend getting their modem and you pick up a router of your choice since your on a budget. That would be the cheapest though maybe not in the long run. Netgear makes some decent combo units but in my opinion, a separate modem and router is the best choice. As far as Ebay, its always a gamble. Just pay attention to the seller reviews.

I'm not looking to rent a modem for 8$ a month, i could get one on ebay for around 30$, it would pay itself off in the first 3 and a half months. Can you suggest some specific ones? combo/ seperates.

I've used this one from Netgear. It's a little pricey but has a lot of features. http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/cable-modems-routers/N450.aspx It all depends on what level of features you require.

Thats Out of the price range, im looking for something cheaper as i mentioned in the op.
