Hi there
Live in the US. Newegg, Tigerdirect, Amazon. No microcenter or Fry's nearby.
Budget - as low as you guys can help me get to..! 500$ including taxes and shipping. But that does not mean I cannot stretch my budget if its really needed.
My current build is as follows...
CPU- AMD Phenom II X3 740 BE CPU (OEM)
MoBo- ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
GPU - XFX HD-677X-ZNLC Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16
Cooler - COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus
RAM - Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
Case- COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Monitor - ASUS VH236H Black 23" 2ms Full HD Widescreen LCD
PSU - OCZ StealthXstream II OCZ600SXS2 600W ATX12V v2.2/ EPS12V PLUS Certified Power Supply
I am looking to build a small form factor gaming build within the next 2 - 3 weeks - so in all likelihood I won't be able to use most of the parts above. Like I said in the title, I am a casual gamer - not much online gaming. Other uses - word processing, movies.
Would like to go with an Intel CPU this time, specifically the i5 3570K. But willing to stick to AMD if that route is better. I also want a modular power supply.
Questions I have
1. Is a SFF bad for gaming?
2. Will I paying a lot just for the form factor?
3. Will I need to pay lot of attention to cooling?
Suggestions for a build welcome - thanks.
Cheers
