I already have a PC but it is fairly old a GTX 550 and a AMD Athlon X4 651 CPU, I was looking a thing getting a new build I'll have around £150-£250 at the end of the month and was thinking about getting a refurbished dell optiplex with 8gb damn and quad core CPU and a 1tb hard drive, and after that just installing a gtx 750ti is this a good option? As I don't want to go threw the hassle of installing windows on a pc I built myself as I don't understand. Thanks

this is NEW pricing. Under 200, includes a very large HDD, and this is *new* not used parts

Well that's not a bad option however. Just know that you will probably not get the best qualities from that 750ti as it is a low-end card from that generation. If you could save up to about $500-550, you could build a decent computer with a new upgrade path.

It would be an extra few months saving as I'm only 15 and hard to get money but may be worth it just depends how much Christmas money I get as got £100 right now thanks, will keep that as an option

Sorry for late reply, it's a gtx 550ti, AMD Athlon II X4 651, 8gb of ram 1tb hard drive a 550 watt psu and a Asus f1A55-m lk r2.0 motherboard, was thinking of getting a am3+ motherboard then buying a used 6300 and a gtx 960 or 950 but I don't understand if I can re use my hard drive or not thanks

Plenty of power for the future.

You might have to reinstall windows, but trying and seeing if the current install will start is the only way to know for sure.If it starts would activating it again be enough. With old AMD drivers might it be best though to reinstall no matter what, but that's up to you.
If it doesn't restart do you have to reinstall anyway so make sure you have back-ups of what you want to keep.

I don't know what optiplex you we're looking at so can't say if these parts will work better.I would suggest to just keep on playing with the gtx 550 ti and be happy with it untill there are funds enough to go for better.

I was thinking of just buying a used fx 6300 and a am3+ mobo as can get them pretty cheap and get a gtx 950 or something and maybe add a ssd in as I barely use any storage only used 120 gb right now and have basically every game I play and additional bf4, dayz and some cods that I've basically never played, thanks again I've decided not to go with the optiplex as doesn't seem like a long term option

I personally would prefer the i5,but the FX 6300 is still i3 level and sometimes even abit faster so i'm not against it.You can still have fun with it for a while. With coming games might the 6 cores even be utilised better.
Try to get a decent motherboard with the FX 6300 so you'd maybe could overclock it abit.

I bought. Asrock N68-GS4/USB3 motherboard the other day got the build it should perform decent as I'm not really comfortable with over locking right now maybe down the road I'm buying my 6300 in a week or so

this throws in a GPU, but pushes the price up to 260

Ive already bought the mobo, and my budget is basically just for the gpu and CPU now thanks though I'll look at that 1050 though as was thinking about a 950 as can get them pretty cheap
