I have a buffalo Drive that is connected to the network via a wired connection and is available from computers on the wired network. From a wireless computer I can ping the drive but cannot see it on the network or of course map a drive to it. The wireless connected computer can see and share wiles with the other computers on the wired network but not the NAS drive which can be accessed by the wired computers.

All computers are Windows 7 machines. Drive is a NAS model TS WX2 OTL/R1-R

Much thanks for any thoughts on this.

Hmm, I tried linking to the DHCP assigned address and got the message that the drive couldn't be found. I'll try again but I'm thinking that the problem lies more with the wireless encryption. I don't see anyway to provide the NAS with the wireless encryption key.

PROBLEM SOLVED: Knowing that I could successfully ping the NAS over the laptop's wireless connection, I tried adding a line to the Window's HOST file associating the NAS IP address to the workgroup's device name. This allowed the name to show up in the Windows Explorer and I could also create a shortcut to link to the NAS drive and have access to the files.
