I am trying to find out if the parts I will order for a new desktop will be enough or do I need other things? (1st time doing this) Here are the componets:
Biostar Tforce TA790GX A2+ mAM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD motherboard
AMD Phenom II x4 940 Deneb 3.0 GHz 4x 52kb l2 cache 6mb L3 cache 125 watt Quad core black edition
Antec 1200 steel ATX Full tower computer case
Antec NeoPower 650 watt ATX 12v Power supply
Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 1 GB 256 bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0x 16 HDCP Video Card
Asus 22" 2 ms widescreen LCD monitor w/ HDCP support
Microsoft Vista Ultimate SP1
Western Digital 1 TB 7200 RPM 32 MB Cache Sata 3.0GB/sec Hard Drive
G.Skill 4 GB 240 pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066

The build looks pretty good!

Do you really need the Antec 1200 and Vista Ultimate? I can see the case, but Ultimate just seems like a waste of money. Here's a link that compares the different versions of Vista:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/compare-editions/default.aspx

Vista Home Premium works fine for most people.

If it was me, I'd also look at some cheaper cases.

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021&Tpk=antec%20900 $119.99

or

Antec Nine Hundred Two Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

or

COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137 $79.99

Don't get me wrong, the 1200 is a nice case, I'm just providing some cheaper options.

You also might want to look for an Asus or Gigabyte motherboard. I'm sure the Biostar will do the trick, but I'd try to stick with Asus or Gigabyte.

+1 all good suggestions

I would want a 750w PSU to keep the option of xfire open later, 650 is cutting it kinda close. If you were only going to use one card then a 500w PSU would work fine.

newegg has the 22inch asus that has a 1920x1080 res and small pixel vs 1680x1050 for a similar price. I dont know which one you got.

The 640GB aals WD would runs cooler than the 1TB model due to less platter and cheaper.

Do you really want a full tower? Do you have crazy amount of optical drives? 12x5.25 bay and only 3x3.5 bays on the 1200 antec-CM 690 has 5x of each.

790 chipset? You buying higher price component ie (vista ultimate, 1TB HD, 4870 1GB, the 940 amd quad) and went with a cheap mobo that is known for it's integrated video.

Y ultimate? I got ultimate cause i can get mine for less than 1/2 oem pricing. I turn off the stupid feature ultimate has anyways.

Home premium 64bit would be perfect for 99% of us.

The 920 AMD has the small spec as the 940. If you gona plan on OC the CPU then get the slower one

Home premium 64bit $80 save
640GB wd $50 save
CM 690 $100 save
920 AMD $30 save

USE the money you save to get better mobo, PSU and HD or even video card!
