Looking for advice for a gaming pc with a budget of $800
it would be my first build so I'm looking for expert advice.
Really doesn't matter if its intel or amd just want to be able to play new line up games.

Here is a build that is $815. I prefer the 4770K, others will tell you to get a 3rd gen series.

I'm confused as to why your part list didn't include a case or any storage solutions, even though this is his first build (meaning we can't assume he has a case and HDD sitting around somewhere).

The 4770k is overkill in terms of gaming performance. It's over $100 wasted. The money would be better spent on the GPU. For a build that's optimized for gaming, you can pull a significant amount of money out of the CPU. An AMD 8320 would not even come close to bottlenecking any games, and even CPU-intensive games would see a negligible framerate loss vs. a quad-core SB or Haswell. And I say this even as an Intel fan (my PC is for a lot more than gaming, though).

Here's a full build that meets your $800 budget requirements. It has a better graphics card, which is most important. It also has a better PSU that would support Crossfire if you decide to get a second 7970 later on.
