And a work computer that was 4.5k from apple (4 years old)

I need a Computer for school now. I'm used to the above computers and am looking for something in similar speeds but not as expensive. Desktop, all in one, or laptop doesnt matter to me as my classes are online. I'm taking classes that involve game design and 3d modeling. Would this need a graphics card? Anyone want to suggest a build around 1k or less that could keep up :) thanks!

p.s. What do you guys think of getting a all in one mac? They seem pretty good and are around my budget.

An Imac would probably do fine for your schoolwork, but the best way to find out is ask what THEY use for classes.

The mrt3 AMD build is good too as AMD tend to do better in the applications that use more cores such as what you'd use at school. The cores help them compete with intel whereas gaming they get pasted.

I picked 4 x HDD because you could do a 4 gb raid array with 2 and have a backup in case of hdd failure.

I'm not allowed to. My school (for some retarded reason) says that you must use a computer for only there stuff blah blah certain things blah blah lol. Sooo in conclusion i cant use my gaming rig 🙁
