Hi all,

I currently have a gaming rig (i9-9900k - bought on deal ;) - gtx 1080 and 32GB RAM), which is downstairs and i'd like to setup something in my loft for streaming music/videos and if possible utilise my gaming rig to stream games upstairs. I've had a look online and saw that you can get HDMI extenders, but i can't drill through walls and looking at videos, it is very hit and miss to put HDMI over powerlines.

Ideally, i would be able to find a solution that doesn't cost too much, but i'm starting to think i will need to either build a mini itx (which would be used in my next house as a lounge PC for streaming etc...), buy a laptop or if anyone has any great ideas to be able to extend DP or HDMI in a house, use that!

If i go down the mini ITX build, my budget is around £300-350, but i've been looking at a Ryzen 5 3400G, which brings it up over £400 (I have a spare SSD). I also see the new AMD CPUs are coming out, so maybe i should wait? What does everyone think - open to any suggestions!!

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Processor (£131.00 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard (£119.99 @ AWD-IT)
Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (£42.99 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Thermaltake Core V1 Mini ITX Desktop Case (£43.35 @ Ebuyer)
Power Supply: be quiet! Pure Power 11 CM 500 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£74.99 @ Box Limited)
Total: £412.32

Thanks Wong - i had a look at these, but wasn't too sure if the signal would go through my house - thought if i'm spending nearly 100+ on HDMI wireless extender, then may just get a pc instead. I'm starting to think about using this build now, which would be very cheap and fine as a media PC:

CPU: AMD Athlon 3000G 3.5 GHz Dual-Core Processor (£43.98 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (£81.95 @ AWD-IT)
Memory: Patriot Viper 4 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4-3000 CL16 Memory (£36.28 @ Ebuyer)
Storage: Western Digital Blue 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (£52.49 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Fractal Design Core 1100 MicroATX Mini Tower Case (£32.22 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: be quiet! System Power 9 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£51.92 @ Aria PC)
Total: £298.84
