Build compatibility check

Do you already have the CPU and motherboard? Because that system is using a 3 generation old CPU and you can get a much better 8th gen i7 for less money than that Skylake platform.

Everything on your build is compatible, but this would be a heck of a lot better in just about every imaginable way. And it's slightly less expensive. You won't need an aftermarket cooler with the i7-8700 as it comes with a cooler, but you can certainly still add one if you wish.

Hi thank you for replying. The reason I went with the i7-6600k is because I found a very good deal on it for about half off. Though with the i7-6600k would you recommend I stick with buying the current motherboard I have on my list or purchase the one you recommended?

No, the one I recommended is for an 8th gen Intel CPU. Those are 300 series boards. You need a 100 or 200 series board.

Before making a recommendation I would need to know, are you looking at the i7-6700k or the i5-6600k, because there IS no i7-6600k. And do you plan to do any overclocking of the CPU on this system?
