Ok, I finally raised enough money to build what I hope to be a DAW for multi track music recording/ editing that'll last another 10 years... Can you guys give me the most bang for my buck for 1200 bucks or under? AMD or Intel does not matter...
I know peole have posed something like this before...BUT...I could never find anything specific enough...

Thanks!

Hello... I would suggest a i7 8-16 gig ram, SSD's... dual monitors.
1) Are you a keyboardist/soft synths Power user? 32GB ram then for large sample sizes.
2) What Audio interface are you using or planning to use?
3) do you need a "Quiet" PC or will you have large distance from MIC locations?

Hey here is what I ended up getting...Thanks for your help...
i7 4790K
Deep Silence 2 Mid Case
Asus Saber tooth z97 Motherboard - mark 1
corsair 650w power supply - modular
32 gigs ram (4 sticks of 8)
Cooler Master hyper 212 CPU cooler
Samsung 500g SSD

I stayed within my budget if 1200 dollars...Do you see any weaknesses in the system?

Thanks again...

Good luck video editing on the Intel HD Graphics 4600. You aren't getting anywhere with that iGPU.
And also, do you need OS? Peripherals? Monitors?
