Heya all, I am looking to create a new build for both playing games and making games, however, I am having a hard time deciding on parts.

My budget is around $1,000 (More of a guidline than a maximum) and I already own a PSU (Corsair 850wat HX850i) which I plan to use in my new build.

I hope to be able to play the latest games for at least another 3-4 years. I also intend on spending a lot of time in creative applications such as Unity, Game Maker Studio 2, Blender and Photoshop.

My biggest dilemas have been deciding on a CPU and GPU. Do I go with the raw power of an intel CPU for gaming, or the many cores of an AMD CPU for multithreaded creative applications?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Solution
Photoshop is single core. Blender likes more. Unity and GMS 2 themselves are not multithreadong, however, you can write C# in a way to utilize all threads. For your budget, I will go with AMD CPU with maybe 32 gb ram.
