[SOLVED] Build For Streaming And Gaming

Hello,

I'm new and just wanted some opinions and help on what to look for in terms of components for my PC. I would like to build (or buy a pre-built) PC for around $1,000.00 USD (+/- $100.00). I would like to stream games such as Rainbow Six Siege and Apex Legends to twitch using OBS. I am not going to buy two PCs, and will not get a capture card. Ideally I would like to stream at 1080p 60fps, but can settle for 720p 60fps. I already have a monitor and other peripherals. I'm curious what the better components/best combination of the following parts are for my budget;

16gb DDR4 2666/3200mhz
500gb SSD + 1TB HDD
Ryzen 5 2600x vs Ryzen 7 2700 vs i5 8400 vs i5 9400f
GTX 1060 6GB vs GTX 1070 vs RTX 2060

I also would like to know if the best combo in that price range would be best streaming off the CPU or GPU, thanks!

Wow man. Absolutely perfect!!! Thank you very much.

To stream it helps to have more cores. And you can fit the 2700 in your budget. So I'd get Ryzen 7 over 5. Also, Ryzen likes fast RAM. So bump up to 3200MHz. A 500gb SSD is standard now. All this still is in your budget. If you can spend more buy a beefy cpu cooler, but stock cooler is decent. Also, its nice to have extra power in a system, to run more efficiently and future expansion.

The 2700 on the stock cooler (can't all core oc much above 3.5 if any) is just so much slower by itself than the 2600x that I'm not sure the cores will ever actually. Help even streaming. Most recording services eat up the GPU anymore anyway

I was thinking the same thing. So would it be really worth it to buy an aftermarket cooler (Hyper 212 evo?) for the 2700 to oc it? And if I'm going to be using OBS to stream to twitch, would I be streaming off the 2060 or the 2600x/2700? I'd like to stream at around 8,000 bitrate (so 1080p 60fps yeah?).

You'd need something more like a cyroig r5 to actually reach similar clocks to a 2600x. I think you'll be fine with it to be honest. If it fits your budget with a 2700 and a $55+ cooler then that's certainly an option. If not the 2600x should be fine

Interesting. So the additional cores will help with streamimg and gaming simultaneously? Would I OBS stream off software x264 or NVENC? So if I do decide to get the ryzen 7 2700, would i be better served streaming off that or the rtx 2060? And lastly, if I coukd soend the extra 50 bucks is the 2700x a wise move? either way, could you please give me the best coolers around 50 bucks for the 2700 or 2700x? I know I'm asking a lot, but I do appreciate the help!

Extremely powerful and great for streaming and gaming. R7 2700 and RTX2070 combo is great for competitive gaming and streaming.
