Hello,
I recently lost my gaming pc that I built in 2010 to a house fire. Insurance is going to give roughly $1000 to replace it. Asking the community for some assistance with parts and prices since it has been so long I built one.
Things to note:
Do not need a monitor, i had a new one in my garage that was not damaged. This monitor uses 1920x1080 resolution.

I would like an SSD/HD combo storage setup

Prefer Intel i5, with Nvidia graphics

Will need an OS

Would like a decent sized PSU for future upgrades

Thanks in advance.

I realize this puts you a smidge OVER the 1000, but the extra is worth it IMO not to later feel like you had to cut quality. The video card could be cheaper, but the extra gig comes in handy for the latest games as well as future games, and the good cooler lets you overclock a bit if you want to.

*IMO the extra SSD space is worth it, you want to leave some of the drive blank with an SSD so with 256, let's say 15 percent over provisoning = 256-37...219. Windows can eat up 40 gigs (x 64) so 180 gigs. new games can be 30-50 gigs a pop. You see my point here, the $$$ pain is worth the SSD space.

Solid build but I would recommend this psu:
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr
It isnt as good as the xfx, but it is still quite reliable according to the psu tier list, and it has a 750w PSU.
