i was wondering if this computer would be able to run high end games and how long with the system last till i need to get new parts?

CPU: Intel Core i5 4460
Motherboard: ASRock H97M-ANNIVERSARY
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Windforce
Ram: Kingston 8GB (2x4G) Kit
Case: NZXT Phantom 240 Mid Tower Case White
Hard drive: Western Digital Blue 1TB
Power Supply: CoolerMaster Thunder Series 700W Power Supply

The motherboard is a bit low end but OK. And I'd rather a better quality PSU. Especially as insurance to run a gtx970 without problems.

But it'll work OK as is. The i5, 8gb ram and gtx 970 should last 3 years or so before you want something better.

I would suggest getting a Z97 motherboard so you can overclock that CPU without doing witchcraft. Also, you don't really need a 700W PSU, get something around 600 and you should be fine.

The i5-4460 has much less OC capability iirc, get a 4690k for a bit extra money and it'll last you a lot longer. The GTX 970 will last you quite awhile unless you want to play at max graphical settings for the next decade.

You can't OC a 4460. Thats why its a 'LOCKED' cpu. The multiplier is locked.
