I like this combo deal at newegg right now with a 120gb ssd

only things missing are a good HDD and Audio card.

Is this a good build? Do you suggest more RAM? Will be running large libraries with a couple hundred gigs of sounds like kontakt and east/west and composing songs with over 5 min length and mastering the sound quality of each instrument and the whole track.

Only other use will be for programming and reading e-books which I'm guessing is minimal.

There is absolutely no need for a sound card. The one built into the motherboard is definitely better. Why do you want it all from newegg? Some of those parts aren't that great.

The PSU is nearly garbage, the computer case is way over priced, and the memory is also over priced.

Less expensive and it actually has quality parts. For what you will be doing you really really do not need the 4790k. The Xeon will perform similar but for much less. But have 4 cores, both have hyperthreading. Also, the motherboard I chose has an excellent on-board audio solution.
