this is the build and i have no intention of overclocking is an aftermarket cooler needed for the cpu? either water or heatpipe? this is a gaming rig. thank you

Honestly you have a very good build, and it would be a shame not to OC it, even moderately, just using the multiplier. You don't really need an aftermarket cooler, but it will tend to run warmer and louder with the stock cooler. A CM Hyper 212 EVO, TX4 or plus is good up to 4.3-4.2, as are thermaltake water 2.0 performer or pro, corsair h-80i or Noctua NH-d14 would be top end. Any of these will run almost silent at idle, and loaded will still be considerably quieter than stock, while still maintaining very good temps.

No. Since you're not over-clocking, the stock cooling system is going to be sufficient. Also, since you're not over-clocking, you can save some money by going with the non-"K" version of the processor and the "H"87 motherboard chip set.
