Hey guys...as you can see my build is not 100% complete. I'll be be upgrading my mobo/cpu/ram/cooler/HD and will upgrade my gfx card/psu/etc. later when more $$ rolls in. I will just use whatever's left-over such as my gfx card and PSU and optical drive. I couldn't find some current hardware I have on my PC that I'm not upgrading on pcpartpicker so I decided to list it here....

Here's what I have right now that I won't upgrade for the time being that didn't show up on pcpartpicker:

PSU: Corsair 750TX 80+ bronze certified http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006

GPU: Sapphire Radeon 6950 2GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102914

Here are a few questions I have:

1. What z97 MOBO would be best for me if I'm not trying to SLI but am trying to OC my rig to 4.5-4.6 ghz?

2. I have my eyes of the Noctua DH-14....granted I know how great it is but would something like the Corsair H100 water cooling be a WAY better alternative? or should I just go for the air cooling?

3. I'm in need of some additional case fans...any good ones you guys recommend?

4. Does everything look solid? I know that pcpartpicker is very good with compatibility but just want to be 100% sure ya know? :D ..especially concerned with the 750tx PSU but from what my friends were saying this should be more than enough for OC and gfx card upgrade (one compability issue that came up was that my HAF 912 case doesn't have front usb 3.0 ports but I can live with that)

Just to note...my rig is about 3 years old...so pretty much everything besides the MOBO/CPU/RAM has aged quite a bit but I don't really see any abnormal performance issues besides POSSIBLY my HD which I'm replacing (issue is that I experience very slow booting performance from sleep (takes about 5 minutes to boot from sleep and this happened all so suddenly and it is not from a virus)

In the future I will probably upgrade to a better graphics card (290x ideally) and will also be setting up an extra monitor (so hopefully everything I have ATM will be sufficient enough to cater to these upgrades).

I'll read every feedback and will probably place the order tomorrow unless if one of you guys catch a serious issue in which case I'll be pretty bummed.

My budget is pretty flexible but would always rather spend less than more....so any changes are welcome as well! Thanks a lot in advance.

Solution
1. The msi gaming 5 would do nicely, but if you want to oc like mad then a msi m power series would be better, or a asus sabertooth

2. I'd stick with air cooling, liquid cooling only starts to beat air cooling at the higher end models like the h100i, and even then, they only beat their air counterparts by a few degrees, which are like 40% cheaper than liquid cooling

3.Corsair do some nice fans

4. what gpu are you buying?

I decided to go with the h100i water cooling after my friend convinced me xD....would like best performance and long life spans and I think h100i does the trick....

I will be buying a r290x in the future or possibly better (I will never SLI/crossfire)

Thanks for the mobo info. Looking for more input perhaps b4 I buy later tonight

When I bought it, PSU was like around $120 ish....it was very very good when it was released but it isnt modular

yeah seems fine then :) then h100i is a fine cooler, though a tad bit expensive, but you won't be disappointed :)
