Hi, I wanted to build my first PC, but I'm a complete beginner. So, I went here to ask if my components are compatible with each other.

Approximate Purchase Date: Within two weeks.
Budget Range: around 800 USD
Location: UAE
System Usage: Going to mainly be using it for valorant on 1080p 360hz. I will also use it with my TV on 4k60 and 1440p120 for single player games.

Here are the components I'm planning to purchase:

  1. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 8 Cores & 16 Threads (237 USD/ 869 AED)
  2. GPU: XFX Speedster MERC 319 AMD Radeon™ RX 6800 XT USED (245 USD/ 900 AED)
  3. Motherboard: ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 (73 USD/267 AED)
  4. RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200MHz (59 USD/215 AED)
  5. Storage: Crucial P3 1TB CT1000P3SSD8 PCIe 3.0, 3D NAND, NVMe, M.2 SSD (49 USD/ 180 AED)
  6. PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 650W Power Supply, Non-Modular (46 USD/169 AED)
  7. CPU Cooler: AIO Cougar Poseidon GT 240 (41 USD/150 AED) or Deepcool LE520 (41 USD/150 AED)
  8. Case: MONTECH XR, ATX Mid-Tower PC Gaming Case, 3 x 120mm ARGB PWM Fans (72 USD/ 265 AED)

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

At face value, they will work if you change the PSU out for something that's reliably built. As it stands you're looking to by another system after the PSU nukes what you've listed above. I also wouldn't put a Ryzen 5000series X3D processor on a motherboard that lacks a proper VRM design.

I see you've listed the prices in both USD and AED, are you located in USA or UAE? You're also advised to stylize your thread with info asked of in this thread;
so users can chime in with worthwhile suggestions. Depending on your budget, I'd look into AM5 instead of AM4.

PSU is NOT the place where to cheap out on. Since PSU powers everything, it is the most important component inside the PC.

You can cheap out on every other component, except PSU. So, look for a good quality PSU. E.g: Seasonic Focus/Vertex/PRIME, Corsair RMx/RMi/HXi/AXi, Super Flower Leadex Gold/Platinum/Titanium.

Your CPU does not need fancy and expensive ARGB AIO to cool it. Normal mid-tower air cooler will do just fine. Like Arctic Freezer 34 or Freezer 36. Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE is also cheap (it's actually value king).

So, go with cheaper CPU cooler, SSD, RAM, MoBo etc to afford good quality PSU.

Try and fit a B550 board into your budget.

Thank you for your response! I have updated my post with more details. For the PSU, will a MSI MAG 850W Power Supply 80 Plus Gold be sufficient? And what motherboard will you recommend?

That's mediocre quality PSU, which is much better than the Litepower you were eyeing 1st.

Though, interesting fact about modern MSI PSUs: they don't have a warranty.
Nowhere in the official specs are any word about warranty or it's length,
specs: https://www.msi.com/Power-Supply/MAG-A850GL-PCIE5

And MSI support page is also vague about it;
MSI product warranty terms may differ for each region. Only MSI notebooks have international limited warranty – all other products are subject to regional limited warranty terms based on where the product was purchased. Please check with your retailer where the MSI product was purchased from to verify the applicable product warranty terms.

So, depending on local laws of UAE, your PSU warranty will be what local laws state. 6 months? 1 year? 2 years? I don't know local laws.

In that regard, MSI is the ONLY PSU brand that fiddles with warranty. ALL other PSU brands/OEMs clearly state on PSU's official specs page on how long the warranty is. And you get that warranty regardless where you live.
E.g Seasonic PRIME TX has 12 years of warranty (the longest there is),
specs: https://seasonic.com/prime-tx/

This is also one of the reasons why i, personally, am running two Seasonic PRIME TX-650 PSUs.

So, your call if you want to put up with MSI PSU warranty shenanigans.

For 850W units, here are several best it's class PSUs for you to choose from,

So, i suggest that you get a PSU from that list.

And what motherboard will you recommend?
MoBo is picked based on it's features. E.g want more M.2 slots? ATX MoBo. Doesn't need that many M.2 and PCI-E slots? micro-ATX MoBo. Want to have as small build as possible? mini-ITX MoBo.

Will the Ryzen 7 5700X3D work with ASRock B450M-HDV? Because you stated before something about VRM design. Can you elaborate on that? Thank you so much for your responses.

A 750W psu will suffice just fine.

7 year warranty

8 year warranty.

Board to consider.

Consider this cpu to save some money.

would a b650i with a 7800x3d be out of the budget?

My reasoning is the AM4 platform while still viable is basically got no upgrade path ..

Personally its a waste of money going forward where as AM5 ddr5 and everything from a 7800x3d to the ( maybe if rumours are true ) to zen 6 on the same platform !!
