Build me a video & audio editing system . . .

Hello,

If you had $1000 +/- to purchase the CPU, MOBO w/ 3-4 PCIe slots, 8 Gb of suitable RAM plus (1) SATA3 (or is it 6 now) for boots + (1) SATA3 1Tb for media files (editing and recording), what would it be? No case, power supply, OS or software, etc needed. AMD is OK.

Being a retired engineer, I think, engineering a system when cost is no issue is easy, but building one that is almost as good with restricted cost, that's when you need to clever, right? What suggestions might y'all have on this video/audio editing system?

Once bulldozer comes out similar thing, but with an 8 core cpu like FX8150.
And a high end 990FX board like the Asus Crosshair V Formula $230.
Possibly with slightly higher end memory: 1.5V CAS9 1866Mhz+

Of course the above doesn't have video card listed, but it does tackle the components you had listed.
And the onboard graphics will work
