My oldest is wishing for a PC for his birthday. One of his uncles (who is living in Denmark) told him about how he bought a used desktop PC and gradually transformed it into a gaming PC.
Unfortunately for me, my wife and son are convinced that I can do that, too

My son is mostly interested in using the PC for internet and school. Gaming-wise, Minecraft and Roblox is all that he is currently interested in.
The only spare hardware I have left are my old GTX 670 and 2x4GB Ripjaws. Assuming that the GPU would suffice (not sure about the RAM), are any of you good people able to give me some advice?
What are your experiences with buying second-hand? Do you have any recommendations (I live in the UK)?
At the moment, I am working with a budget of ca. £260/$350 (excl. the GPU). How realistic is that?
