hi everyone! i am planning to build one pc but im constrained with my budget. I browsed over to different cpu with integrated graphics and looks the 6700k is a solid deal. so my question now would be that is it possible to build a pc with this cpu but no gpu card? and how about their performance? Thanks in advance

Solution

If you want to play games like GTA V, Battlefield, and stuff, you will need a seperate GPU

Cause the inbuilt graphics are not good for games.

And you dont need a Skylake i7 for games. you can get a older i5 4690k

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117372&cm_re=i5_4690k-_-19-117-372-_-Product

and the motherboard i suggest with this CPU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130760&cm_re=1150_motherboard-_-13-130-760-_-Product

and then you can get a GTX 950 GPU

Oh yeah, then yes, the grahpcs will work just fine that are with the CPU. You dont need a GPU for web browsing and all that basic stuff.

BUT for sketch up and adobe programs you should get a GPU, Cause then sketch up will keep freezing and stuff :)

i really think that its not good to expect intel to play super smooth games on integrated graphics, they are not meant for that, you can either go for intel cpu + a graphics card (at least a 970 or a 290 for futureproofing) and the other way is go for an AMD APU, APUs are meant for games to be played with integrated graphics but only after considerable overclocking but it plays games far far better than integrated graphics, if you really don't wanna buy a gpu then go for an APU, if intel then GPU is a must. check out here http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/apu

nope dont get an APU, I used to have an APU, and i could run Adobe after effects for the hell of it. Constant freezing and stuff.

But the rig i have now in my signature, Adobe after effects runs smooth as ever :)
