Hey everyone!

Well, I have decided to go for a brand new juicy .. err budget gaming system .. so I put down a list of points to build a system around it and tried but after going through so many choices and suggestions, now my brain smells like burning rubber ! Also, getting back to the PC field after some years, so kinda rusted =) ..

So here we go !

Rules and Requirements ..

- Gaming Pc ..sort of future proof for next 5 years of gaming..

- No Overclocking... Non OCing gamer's system

- Avoid APUs [ as we are already buying a gfx card and one that comes with cpu is usually not sufficient for gaming anyways, or please give reason of selecting apu if you select one ]

- Once done is done type system. Only thing I might upgrade to later is 16gb ram .. and may be some peripherals, but thats about it.. 'core system' wont change .. like 2nd gfx card wont be put in later.

- I have heard that SSD die fast .. I have never used one and they seem expensive.. so please omit

- I have tried AMD only once 5 years back and had a bad experience.. since then I never bought amd system .. so never looked at AMD again.. are they now alright and safe to buy? I never had to go to replace anything ever from intel.

-Rest of my systems have till date been intel based with the default fan that comes with it and have always given me stable temperatures of around 40C to 50C while gaming and such.. I have never had to use any aftermarket cooling while gaming etc.. plus I wont be overclocking anyways ... so please omit.

-I already have keyboard, mouse, dvd/rw, screen , headphones etc .. so these peripherals are not needed..

With all above hiccups, is it possible to theorycraft two systems

- Intel based system best possible config..budget part by part given below

-Amd Based system best possible config..budget part by part given below

Total budget

Conversion rate $1 = Rs 60

-Budget Rs 60,000 [ $1000..ish! ]

Budget per part-

CPU+MOBO - Rs 25,000 ..

GPU Rs - 15000

RAM 8 GB Rs - 8000

PSU+Cabinet - Rs 6000

1 TB Hard drive - 4000

This comes to around Rs 58000 .. so there is Rs 2000/- leeway to wiggle !

-Totally cool to select any part which is slightly over or under budget if total cost remains within $1000.. the breakdown of budget is just a guideline.

- these sites only ! pretty plz ! shipping costs are always too much!

Between these 2 theory crafted systems of intel and amd with above specifications and budget, which one will give better Performance scores?..just curious ..

and THANKS A LOADS GUYS .. if you are reading this, then with melted brain but a peaceful heart and 4 am in the morning, I shall go to bed knowing that ... I have been heard =D
thanks so much

You could instead get the MSI NVIDIA N770 TF 2GD5/OC, changing the total to Rs 62023.

Comparison: The Intel build has a better CPU for gaming, although the AMD CPU is still plenty good enough. The AMD build has a better GPU, especially if you go for the GTX 770. If it were up to me, I would want the AMD build.

As for whether or not AMD is any good, I have an FX-8350, and I love it. I have had zero problems in the three months so far.

Problem ..

In all of the above suggested CPUs, all seem to be APUs .. why have those been suggested?

http://ark.intel.com/compare/80815,75038,75047 ...

I do want to stick to a condition that-

- Avoid APUs [ as we are already buying a gfx card and one that comes with cpu is usually not sufficient for gaming anyways, or please give reason of selecting apu if you select one ]

Or please explain it to me why do i need an apu when I am already buying a good gfx card.

thanks.

Does it really matter , you have to just turn off the integrated grafix from the bios that's it..... you will not find any Intel i3,i5,or i7 processor without integrated grafix or u have to switch to amd fx series which dose not have any integrated grafix but fx series are meant for overclocking, if u are not comfortable with ocing its meaningless for u to have an fx processor....i don't understand why integrated grafix its bothering u .....integrated grafix is an added benefit so just be happy about it...

Fair enough .. the botheration is cleared when you say " you will not find any Intel i3,i5,or i7 processor without integrated grafix " .. i was not knowing that there is no gpu free cpu version.. else, its logical that I would go for 'non-gpu-cpu' because I am already buying a good gpu =).. rest is correct, no OC. .so dont need amd.

There is a GPU free intel CPU but I couln't find any suppliers for it in India. The Xeon E3 1230v3 is a quad core with hyperthreading and no iGPU and is usually priced between the i5 and i7 processors. None of the sites you provided carry any of them otherwise that was what I would have recommended if it fit in the budget. It is basically an i7 without the iGPU.

Thanks .. My system is now almost finalised to say 80% ..

only last 2 quick things remain..

1) Which mobo and why ? .. between
Intel DH87RL 4th Generation Motherboard vs ASRock H87 Pro4 Motherboard

2) Please do comment on GPU or suggest an alternative in same price range please .. I am not very sure how that Sapphire company is .. never heard of it before..

thanks a loads dude.

1) either mobo would work but you rarely see people picking up intel motherboards. I am sure that the quality is all there but it is more likely to be more expensive than the Asrock for the same features. Either one should work fine.

2) Sapphire is a pretty well known brand in the US, not sure what their warranty or customer service is like in India though. The GPU you picked out should be fine.

Thanks a loads dude, so generally everything looks alright for purchase?

One last quick question is that can above system run all latest games at say at least medium to high settings? ..

tx

The r9 270x should run pretty much all games at high settings or better (depending on the game). It is a pretty powerful card for it's price.

The full system build looks good but I would still try to grab a seasonic SII12 620w if it fits in the budget (it is the power supply I have, very highly recommended for it's quality/quietness).

no need to buy high end motherboard choose motherboard according to your need and sapphire is a popular brand in India i don't know why you haven't heard about it ,its a trusty and well known company and their after sales service is also very good compared to more popular brand like xfx at least here in India

cool .. this is the final system I am purchasing .. please take a final look at to see if everything is ok

tried to adjust it but.. its going over budget .. plus review of Antec VP650P 650 Watts PSU is good =)

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Antec/VP550P/

thanks =) .. yes, going for this one as its just $25 more than 8350 .. plus for gaming, its better to have better core performance .. AMD really unlocks its full potential when its overclocked it seem.
Honestly speaking there is not much of difference, so here comes the truth ! I think I have become a bit of intel fanboy ! 😍
