as my title suggests, my intention with this build is to be able to stream FPS games (CS:GO, new CoD, Fortnite, etc.) in 720p/60fps without having the stream effect my in-game experience (microstutters, hitching, general unsmooth experience, etc.). I'm not positive that such a build even exists, but am curious to get everyone's opinion. should be noted that I always downscale my res & never play in native 1900x1080, and I typically like all my in-game settings to be the lowest they can possibly go.

With that hardware you could run most games without issues on very high settings at 1080p while streaming too... Depending on your internet bandwidth and where you plan to stream you might want to downscale the stream but on your end... Most games will run just fine with nice settings and fps while streaming.

If you stream with OBS use the nvenc video encoder. Offloads part of the work to the gpu. I have an i7 and a gtx 1080 and get virtually zero performance hit that way. Other encoders do create some hit to performance.

the probably part is what worries me, I suppose. I was looking for a guarantee but that may be asking for a bit too much, LOL. thanks for your feedback.

I actually don't think that is the case. The 2080 is actually pretty even with the 1080 Ti... and costs significantly more. The 2070 will probably be somewhere around 1080 performance, and still more expensive than a 1080 Ti currently is.

Contrary to the article on Tom's... don't "just buy it".
