I did forget to mention. this is a HTPC build for movie playback as well as gaminig. I have an MSI 760 GTX video card and silverstone LC17 case. The case is big enough and has decent air-flow, so I can OC things, but not planning on going crazy.

Ill look into the current suggestions. Thanks for the advice so far

No point in getting the 4570. Replace that with a 4670K if your planning on overclocking, in that case keep the aftermarket cpu cooler. If not, get the 4670, and drop the aftermarket cooler, the Stock Intel Cooler is good enough for stock speeds.

changed to these for mobo and cpu

Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Pro

diff in 16 to 8 of that RAM is only 40 bucks. So there is zero use for the extra 8 even with Win 7 64?

Im looking at the power supplies now

Yes unless you are encoding or rendering video, there will be no use of the extra 8gb. It will just sit and waste energy.

most all modern games only use 3.3gb RAM. There are maybe 3 games which use more and they only use 6gb max. We are a long way away from games needing more than 8gb RAM.
