Hi all,

After fixing a corrupted OS my PC started running into the kernel blue screen issue and the diagnositic tool detected multiple hardware issues. I decided to salvage the GPU / Monitors / PSU / Cooler / accessories and get a new CPU / case / ram / motherboard. I had my brother who has more experience building than me review it but I wanted more input if possible.

Please let me know if you think there’s anything wrong with this build in terms of peformance or longevity. I know my graphics card is a few models behind but I’m not too worried about max details on every game and I plan on replacing it in a few years.

Thank you in advance!

A mini ITX board with a Lancool III ?

This would be much better. Less expensive too. And in reality, you could drop down from the 5700x to a 5600G or 5600X, and save a bit more money unless you plan to do that graphics card upgrade sooner rather than later, because that 5700x a bit more than what is needed for a GTX 1060. It's fine to have a CPU that's a bit overkill, it won't hurt and it will possibly help for any very CPU intensive games, but it's totally not necessary for a system with only a GTX 1060 in it.

And if you already have a valid Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 license, that is attached to YOU via your Microsoft account, you shouldn't need to purchase a new one so long as the existing license is no longer going to be used with any system using your old motherboard. You can simply download the Windows 10 or 11 media creation tool from Microsoft, create installation media on a flash drive, install Windows once the system is built and when prompted enter your Microsoft account credentials which should allow you to activate or move your activation/digital entitlement from your old board to your new one. You might have to jump through a couple of hoops, sometimes, not usually, with Microsoft to get it transferred, but usually it just moves the digital entitlement to the new system.

Yeah I saved the USB I used to fix my corrupted OS so I was hoping to do that with the new build but threw it in part picker just to be safe.
Thank you again!
