Hi,

I am looking to build this PC: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/nbG4Bc

However due to stock issues I dont htink I can get a 3070/3060ti/3080 for a long time. So would it be ok to build it using my current graphics card ( a 750ti) and use that until i can get a 3070. I bought squad, tarkov, arma and GTA 5 a while ago and would really like to be able to run them at a solid FPS.

So would this build work for now with those games? : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/GhLhvf

And then when i can, swap out my 750TI for the 3070?

Thanks

Your plan is reasonable, considering the current state of affairs with new graphics card shortages and prices.

Many games are more cpu limited than graphics limited.
GTAV would be one of them.

However, unless your need is urgent, It might pay to wait a bit and buy current gen products.
ryzen 5600X looks to be a superb gaming processor.
I expect Intel rocket lake to be similar, next quarter.
If you needed more processor now, I think the intel 10th gen K suffix processors will be better gamers than the ryzen 3000 processors.
Here is a review of the i5-10600K:

I honestly think that you should not start any build of that sort. It is simply a waste of money and resources. I recommend you to wait a while (say 1-3 months) and then when the hype is finally over you can get the RTX 3070 for a good price. The GTX 750TI is no doubt a mid-end GPU, but it does not pair well with the Ryzen 9 3900X, it simply can't work because of the bottleneck.

Bottlenecking can by no chance make components not work.
The term bottlenecking means that one component isnt efficient enough to keep up with the other stronger component. It doesnt mean that those components wont work together.

Defer on the HDD completely, planning to add storage later whenever you need it.
Better, yet, buy a 2tb m.2 nvme ssd up front. Intel 665P is well priced.

Thanks all for the great answers. I think then I may go for it. I forgot to say I already own the HDD, its in the parts list to make sure it fits. Do you think waiting a few weeks will let the rest of the prices go down?

I saw some 3060ti and 3070 in stock in the UK today, this afternoon

Just to check it won't fry my 750ti right? I just remembered a friend a few years ago who had a really good cpu but not good gpu and he burned it out playing games somehow. Is there a high chance of this? Is there anyway to avoid it?

There is a very easy way to avoid that.Clean ur gpu from dust, repaste it if needed, have a good powersupply, dont use adapters, connect all gpu power cables needed. The cpu cant kill the gpu, dust and trash powersupply can.

Ah phew I was really worried. Just before I order, do you think there will be a noticeable performance increase? I'm excited but also very nervous as had planned for friends to help me build (who know a lot more than me) but with being in tier 3, I cant
