Hello guys,

Following are the components I'm planning to get:

  • Processor: Ryzen 5 2400g

    Board: Gigabyte B450M DS3H

    RAM: 1x8GB DDDR4 Corsair Vengeance 2400 MHz

    HDD: Seagate 1TB

    SSD: WD 120GB M.2

PSU: Corsair VS550 (I already own it)

    Case: Corsair Spec 04
I'm on a tight budget, so not going to buy a GPU right now. I already own a GTX 750 Ti.

    1. Is this configuration okay for low end gaming?

    2. Does 750Ti make a difference since the APU already have a GPU built in?

    3. If i buy GTX 1060Ti later, can the PSU handle all the components without any stability issues?

    4. Upto how much MHz RAM does the the board/processor support?

I'd dump the SSD and change the memory to 2x4gb @3000mhz, the performance difference from a single stick at 2400mbhz can be like a 15-20 FPS difference. That PSU is low quality but will work for the build now but with any future upgrades you'll want to replace it.

1. See above.

2. The 750 ti 2gb is a little bit better then the iGPU so use it for now.

3. You'll want to replace the PSU.

4. 3200mhz, up to 64gb. Initially it may run at 2133mhz so you'll want to update the BIOS and enable DOCP and hope it's stable.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I'll be adding another 8GB RAM in a couple of months, so will stick with a single stick RAM for now.

Which PSU do you recommend which is not very costly?

The Corsair CX/M (Gray Label) PSU's are better then the VS series. Even if you going with a single stick for now try to get a faster speed, the difference will be noticeable. Now you could try to overclock that stick but it may be difficult to get it stable or it just may not be stable above the 2400mhz.

If i'm adding 1060Ti later, will a 600W PSU do the job? I'll try to get a better RAM. If i understand correctly a 3000MHz RAM will work fine (is supported) with the components i have selected, right?

It has to be a good quality unit, refer to the PSU Tier List, you'll want something Tier 3 or better.

As for the memory Ryzen still has some compatibility issues so you may need to manually adjust timings/speed/voltage/etc to get it stable.
