First build.
I need to buy Windows 7 so I have no wiggle room in terms of prices. I can't afford a bigger gpu, if I could I would, trust me.

Is a 500W psu enough for this?

If you can build something better for 500-550 (wiggle room provided up to 25$) let me know.

your build is pretty good already.
go for it. in future if you want more graphics power you could always add in.another 7770 provided your mobo is crossfire capable.
yes 500 watts is plenty for that also for 7770 xfire

I would swap out the case. Antec, NZXT, even the Rosewill Challenger / Redbone cases have great cooling options and are very good cases. Other than that, your build looks very good. Don't forget the aftermarket HSF such as the CoolerMaster Hyper 212

Drop the slow old AMD crap (and that 965 is discontinued anyway). I'd get an i3 3220 and a B75 mATX board. Rest is good.

SeanB9, pretty good build. If I were you I would skimp to get a 7850 1GB IF you can. Maybe shop the sales this weekend.

I have a 3 year old Phenom II X2. unlocked to a quad at 3.7. With a 6979 no bottlenecks in BF3. very SLIGHTLY over your stock CPU and yours has more potential.

So what I am saying is the CPU can push your gpu at stock no problem. So you can upgrade the CPU cooler and overclock later. And you can run on a 4GB memory chip and get a second later as well. Those are two areas you could save now and still be good and put toward the gpu, then upgrade in a few months for a few bucks. I think it's worth it and the higher gpu would have a bigger performance difference anyway

You do have bottlenecks, you just have to buy an Intel setup to see how that old ass CPU is bottlenecking you. Do you get 60FPS consistently? AMD is rubbish and not worth buying currently. Go look at the hundreds of benchmarks and see.

Considering that a 965 BE is on par with an i3-2120 (go look at hundreds of benchmarks) I would hardly call them "rubbish" or "old ass CPU".

That's Sandy Bridge, not Ivy. And the 965 is already discontinued. The i3 is the best choice.
