In short: Building a computer and I don't have a physical copy of windows 8, but I did buy it, download it, and have the key the day it was released. Is there a way to download the Windows 8 file onto a disk or external hard drive and then when I am booting up my new build, to download Windows 8 to the new computer? This way I won't have to buy a new copy or order and wait for a physical copy.

Does this make sense? I've been doing the research but I'm still kind of confused.

Thank you my fellow friends.

Then yes there is a way download windows 8 if you go to this page and click on get started it will download the update assistant, after that runs you can put in your product key and it will download the Windows 8 ISO: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/buy After doing this burn the ISO on a disc, insert into the drive and install.
