Hello everyone,
I will be putting my new PC together very soon and would like to know if any of you have any tips or advice on what things I should use to help me keep my build safe, clean, and efficient. I know of things like anti-static mats that help keep you from building up static charge in components and potentially damaging them; should I invest in some, and if so how many for what parts? If there are any other tips or things I should get for my build please feel free to say!

Thanks a lot guys!

An anti static wrist strap should do the job. Just be extremely careful when putting it together. It is not particularly difficult but just make sure you have done plenty of reading on how to do it. Don't be afraid to check through the hardware manuals if you are unsure of anything. Make sure when you put the motherboard in the case you use the stand offs. It should not be in direct contact with the case. Last but not least if you encounter any problems during the build, don't get frustrated and feel free to come back here and get any advice you need.

Good luck!

I agree with Joe. Take your time and use guides and references to help you. There's a builder's guide here on the forum that you should be able to find easily. I would follow this along with the instructions in your motherboard manual as these are normally quite good too. A static wrist strap is a good investment, you can utilise the anti static bags that come with the components when handling or placing on a surface.
