Hello. I am looking to put a gaming PC together on a budget and need some advice on all the parts. I want to build a gaming PC with 4K resolution, 64 GB of RAM, and using the NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics card.

Below are the parts I will need to purchase:

- PC case
- Motherboard with 4K resolution
- NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics card
- 64 GB of RAM (16 GB stick x 4= 64 GB)
- 1 TB Hard Drive
- Power Supply
- Wireless Connection
- Cooling Fan

I am not sure what else I may need. I already have a 1 TB hard drive, can I use what I have already or do I need to buy a new one? I went to Newegg and there are so many parts that I don't know what I am overwhelmed. If anyone can provide me with all the links for all the parts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

wtf? lol

Really, why would you want that crazy amount of RAM? That alone will almost eat you up USD$600.

Perhaps you got the wrong idea of what you want your PC to do...
Nevertheless, here it goes:

I would get a GTX 1080Ti if you want to game at 4K. This motherboard has wifi.

Alright, so I got a little excited about the RAM. LOL!

Maybe I will add only 32 GB of RAM to start with and may add another 32 GB of RAM at a later time. The motherboard you recommended is great because it got 4 slots for future upgrade.

By the way, do I need additional cables to complete this custom PC and can I use my CD ROM player that I have already from my old PC?

Psu comes with the cable, if its not a huge case, you woulndnt need extension.
Do you really use cd rom?, it uses same connection.as spinning harddrives, so no problem

on the gpu if you can wait a few weeks pick up the newer nvidia gpus there be faster.
depending on the size of your case in hight you may need a eps 12 inch cable to have the eps cable go behind the mb tray and then plug into a stock mb. for your build use a 256/500g m2/nve drive as boot drive for speed. use the older hard drive as a data drive. for windows install now use a usb stick and the free windows media creation tool. all you need is a windows 10 key code to install windows on a new pc. most mb give you a few short sata data cables. if your going to use your old dvd drive in the top slot of a large case you need a long right angled sata data cable. depending on the number of fans in the case and the fan headers on the mb you may need a fan splitter cables or a fan header if your going to add a lot of fans. if your going to over clock look at a good liquid cooler. a small unit wont cut it. on the power supply get a seasonic focuse gold unit. 650-w if your going to use two gpu go with 750/850w unit.

Thanks!

I don't remember the last time I use a cd rom and I don't watch bluray movies with the PC. So I will not install the cd rom.

It's about 2 years old. It's a Western Digital.

Even 32 GB of RAM is kind of insane for a gaming build. Unless you're doing high-end video editing, mathematical simulations, etc. you'll never use 32 GB of RAM. That $200 can almost always be utilized better elsewhere.

Let's get a budget and country. We're spinning our wheels without this information.

Good build but I'd recommend changing the GPU to Aorus 1080ti, it's a bit better and I also have it. Or even the Aorus Extreme. Also get 850W EVGA PSU not just 650, for a system like yours and a huge budget, don't go so low, the PSU will last you at least 10 years (it has warranty). And the Samsung EVO is on sale now, you could even get 1-2 of them at 500 GB instead of 250. In my country 2x250 costs way above a 500, therefore the 500 is much much better and you'll need the space for Windows + your top 10 games.
