Building A decent gaming rig

I'm help building my mate a computer, He is looking for a rig in the price range of about $600 he already has a case and HDD's.

Comments and thoughts for improvements?
He is looking to run games like Dayz standalone on medium settings.

Yeah, that's a pretty good deal I like the build! The 260x is a pretty good budget card. Can't go wrong with it!

Yes.
1. Get a 7790 or 7850 instead of the 260x if u can
2. Get 1.5v ram instead of 1.25. invest the money somewhere else.
3.Get a fx 6300, not 4300.
4. get a XFX 550W, much better
5. get a newer chip mobo, 970 is getting old. Although it would work but for 90$ u can get better.

He is in Australia, that's the best he's going to get for that money. The 970 isn't a bad chipset at all. For gaming, the 6300 has no advantages as of right now, and may not be in his price range, Australia is crazy expensive. The Cougar PSU is fine for the parts he will have.

Thanks for the quick replies, It would be great to upgrade all of the parts like you have suggested but it all adds up in the end.
If this set up could run most games decently then we are not to fussed, Suggestions are still welcomed though cheers.

They are almost the same with the 7790 slightly ahead and for 20$ less.huehuehue
reason been that 7790 is the previous gen will 260x is the new gen.
