Building a new gaming PC ~ 2000$ do these components seem alright for a mid-high tier rig? Also, first time builder.

Looks pretty good. I might change a couple things. A better CPU cooler and a larger 860 EVO ssd and possibly a 650W G2 or G3 psu if you're over budget. I usually go with the 2TB Seagate rather than the 1TB WD hdd.

That cooler is about the same as the Hyper 212. If you get a cheap cooler go with the Cryorig H7. But as I was saying I'd go with a better cooler such as the Cryorig H5 or NH-U12S.

And you can get a 500GB 860 EVO for cheaper than the 250GB 960 EVO and the 860 will still be pretty darn fast.
