You'll want more than 250GB storage.

I still don't understand why people would want an i5-8400 which is 6core and 6 thread compared to Ryzen 6 core, 12 thread.
In games its almost negligible for the benefits you get. Especially future proofing.

Must just be me, and I own Intel, although my next upgrade will be AMD, because I want the best available for the price.

Because games don't benefit from Hyper threading or SMT

Look at this for instance (sorry website is dutch), https://nl.hardware.info/reviews/8189/10/amd-ryzen-5-2600-review-de-leukste-ryzen-2-gaming-benchmarks-gta-v

ryzen 2600 120 fps and the intel i5 8400 138 fps.
its about the single core strength!

Most of the games dont benefit from more than 4 cores and the leftover 2 cores are way more than enough to handle other multitasking stuff. even the i3 8350k , a 4 core cpu ,beats the ryzen 5 2600 .
Intel has got the lead when it comes to single core strength, and dont forget games are made for the most time on intel cpus and therefore optimalized.

ryzen is good when it comes to video encoding which can benefit from the threads.
I hope this clears it a bit up for you.

As Icaraeus said , you will just need more storage,250 is just way too low. And are you sure you want single aio cooler? I mean it will be fine, because you cant oc your cpu but maybe it will be loud? Why dont you look for air cooler? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3VNhtg here is hyper 212 on newegg for just 14.99 You can look for be quiet pure rock slim or H7 cryorig

Edit: i agree with you about intel cpu's, they are just better in gaming than amd. Unfortunately ill go with r5 1600 just bcs of socket, i cant change mobo again if i want upgrade

That was a very cherry picked link you provided.
The rest of the reviews show nowhere near that, more like 3 FPS.
Also that is just one website, get the whole story - http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/amd_ryzen_5_2600x_review,20.html
If someone thinks 3fps makes a cpu, then you are seriously mistaken. Even if its 5% faster, the benefits of an AMD chip outweigh the intel.
For instance, after 10 months, Intel just shelved their last CPU. 10 months, all these people now have a cpu they can't upgrade on their motherboard. They got to buy new cpu and new motherboard, its crazy.
But each to their own.

This works, but still find the VGA prices too high. They are dropping, maybe if you wait a few weeks will be more reasonable.

on average a i5 8400 is 10 - 20 fps faster than a ryzen 1600 @ 4ghz
the 2600 is only 10% better than the 1600 and may allow you to get ~4.3ghz OC.

That is not enough to close the gap

people would not need to upgrade the cpu, what is crazy is you not understanding that

buy a mobo with built in wifi, its cheaper
