Hey guys, Im trying to build a new gaming PC for my self but I just need some advice.
Here are the parts I picked up. Please let me know if my build would be a good build or if there are better and cheaper options. Thanks!

Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Corsair H55 57.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
Microsoft Windows 8.1 OEM (64-bit)

In total, this will cost me about $1030

Solution
don't go with the corsair cx 600, it is poor quality especially if you'll be drawing a lot of power and overclocking. the XFX 550 Watt is much better quality and is cheaper, and so is the Antec 620 Watt HCG.

for the cooler, consider a dual tower air cooler for better performance, lower price, and much quieter such as Noctua NH-D14 or Phanteks PH-TC14PE

also, any third party GPU will generally be better than the standard nvidia model, due to their aftermarket cooler and higher clock speeds. the EVGA models usually come clocked higher than others, but the MSI model is quieter, cooler, and overclocks better; which makes the EVGA inferior to the overclocked MSI.
I was also thinking that. Maybe I could I also get the card from Nvidia itself. I've seem them at frys and best buy for only about 10 bucks more. What's the difference though? Never really understand what different companies make the same GPU

I think EVGA cards are higher quality and if you do have a problem their customer support is really good.

not saying EVGA isn't a bad brand at all, they are very high quality. just that the MSI model is a better overclocker and also has a better cooler that actually stops running completely when the card is idle (making it silent).
