I am trying to find the best build for the atina 970. My budget is $1000-1400. I would like to dual 970's in the future. But if I can't do that then it is fine. So I also want to have an SSD and HDD. With the memory is two memory sticks better than one? I'm not sure how all of this works so could someone make a build and kind of coach me through this?

Solution
you can pick a different gtx 970 no problem.
This build might struggle with some games in ultra setting is very hig resolution.
But i'm fairly certain you can go ultra on everything if your resolution isn't too high.
What screen resolution do you have?

What you could do is get one gtx 970 now and buy a second one next year ( will cost like 300$ by then ).
Don't worry, you can game for years to come 🙂

you want memory in even numbers ( 2 or 4 ). i'll save you the techy blabla but 1 or 3 are not as efficiënt, trust me.

here is a build to start with.
You can buy a second graphics card later and just stick it in.
The motherboard can hold 2 GPU's and the PSU ( powersupply ) is big enough.

Exaclty 1400$,
This is a build to have a VERY quiet pc. if you dont need that you can save another 100$ or so.

you might be right, i never do the math and if you overclock etc. it becomes even more complicated.

Initially there werent't many good PSUs which could run very efficient, and the parts were pretty power hungry, but nowadays you can easily find 80+ Gold PSUs for less which IMO would perform as good or better than say a regular 80+ 850W PSUs... Also the GTX 970 is very power efficient which needs only 2x 6-pin PCIe as compared to other high-powered card which would need either 1x 6-pin, 1x 8-pin PCIe or 2x 8-pin PCIe power connectors.

i know, but i always want some reserves, just in case 🙂 who know's what they will invent in 3 years time... would be stupid to exchange PSU and have double the cost.

Also: a 850W supply uses only marginally more then a 650W powersupply when powering the same build ( especially in gold or platinum ). So let's agree we are bot right. You a bit more then me, i admit 🙂

Could I replace the gtx 970 with an eggs or asus brand? Also how would the performance be graphic wise. Could I play every game on ultra settings and games that are coming out in the future?
