Hi Guys,

I have made the following selection. I also wonder if all the component are compatible and if it would give good performance for PC under 500 $:

-Amd fx 8350 black edition
-Corsaire carbide 100r
-Cooler master hyper 212 evon
-Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0
-Gtx 1050 sc gaming 2gb
-Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Single DDR4 2666 MT/s
-Adata Ultimate SU800 128GB
-Corsair CX650M

Solution
That system would perform okay, but the AMD FX CPU is a dead platform with no upgrade path. It performs about the same as a new budget Pentium dual-core with hyper-threading.

I would advise you to build on a new platform, AMD AM4 or Intel LGA 1151. At least with a budget Pentium G4560 you have the option to upgrade to the Core i7 later.

Do you think a Ryzen 3 1200 would be a good alternative ?

SO actually a ASUS EX-A320M-GAMING with a AMD Ryzen 3 1200 seems to be a good alternative regarding DDR4 and AM4 socket. However I am not an expert into hardware but I can see that the Ryzen 3 has a lower clock, isn't it less performant ?

Nope. Different architecture makes clockspeed irrelevant. The Ryzen chips massively outperform FX architecture.

So what would you recommend me? Should I go for the Intel or for the AMD Ryzen? Thank you for the help, it really help me understand those things 😀

I would go for Ryzen instead of G4560. The Pentium G4560 is on the LGA 1151 v1, so can only support 6th and 7th-gen Intel. 8th-gen Intel is the newer platform (LGA 1151 v2), but more expensive because they don't have the budget oriented motherboards out yet.

With Ryzen, AMD will support the current motherboards with new CPUs for at least a couple more years. So there will be more, newer CPU in the future you can upgrade to later.

So, if you can afford it the Ryzen 3 1200 is a good choice for a budget gaming system.

Hello again guys, I finally went for the following selection:

AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.4 GHz with Wraith Stealth Cooler
Corsaire carbide 100r
Cooler master hyper 212 evon
Asrock AB350 PRO4
Palit Microsystems GeForce GTX 1050 StormX
Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Single DDR4 2666 MT/s
Adata Ultimate SU800 128GB
Corsair CX650M

The Corsair PSU is 650 W which I believe might be not needed that high. Which one would be a good one for my setup?

You should check out pcpartpicker.com it allows you to find parts and tells the compatible parts to pick from. It also shows you prices from several large retailers in your region.
