Hello,

I have been thinking of building a new computer mainly for heavy photo editing. I have pretty much chosen the CPU and motherboard, but as for the rest, I would not mind having any tips/comments/recommendation about the configuration described below:

1 | Intel Core i7-4770K Quad-Core Desktop Processor (3.5 GHz, 8 MB Cache, Intel HD graphics, BX80646I74770K?).

2 | Noctua 6 Dual Heatpipe with 140mm/120mm Dual SSO Bearing Fans CPU Cooler NH-D14 - Retail

3 | ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO DDR3 2800 LGA 1150 Motherboard socket for 4th Generation Intel Core i7/ i5/ i3/ Pentium / Celeron Processors

4 | Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10)

5 | Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 250GB (or maybe the 128 GB version) 2.5-Inch SATA III Single Unit Version Internal Solid State Drive MZ-7TE250BW

I do have 1x optical drive, 2x 1TB SATA HD 7200 rpm for backup. I also have the video card XFX AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 (I don't do gaming), and the PSU Corsair CX500W, which I believe should be fine for what I need.

Should I be worried about any possibilities in compatibility, or does the config should run smoothly?

Also, I am not quite sure about the computer case, so any advice would be more than welcome as I need to make sure it will fit what I have listed above.

Last question, based on the config I provided above, would it be possible to overclock the system without worrying about instability?

Thanks again for any tips/advice, and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,

Max

for the ram with haswell pick up 2100 speed ram. there been testing with the newer haswell and 1600 ram and found out the 1600 ram is a little slow for haswell cpu. intel in a few weeks will be letting there mb vendors drop newer motherboard with the z97 chipset. the newer chipset let you drop in a newer brodwell cpu if needed. the only issue i see is the older power supply. the cx line is not supported of intel haswell sleep states. if you try and put the pc into sleep it will shut down do to haswell cpu low low voltage. computer cases the r300 and r400 for the price is not bad there also the r4 cases from fractal.
