Hey please forgive me for my bad English...but i am building a gaming pc n i am very tight on my budget....i thinking of getting a i5 3470 (i know ot old but its ok for 1080p gaming) and a gtx 970...8gb ddr3...so will the gtx 970 bottleneck i5 3470..and will the pc be good ???

You are making a mistake buying that system, or trying to put one together with those parts.

The i5 3470 will bottleneck the GTX970 in some games. (BF 1 or BF V). 8gb of ram is barely enough now for AAA gaming and can cause FPS drops in game.

It will be okay for 1080p/60hz. But not spectacular.

You would be much better off building around a modern system.

It would be a much better system, lthough it wouldn't have a powerful GPU. But, this would get you started at 1080p, and then in a month or two down the line you could buy a GPU like the RX580/590/GTX1660/TI/RTX2060 which would stomp all over the GTX970.

Do you have a budget for the pc you want to buy?

it will not be the best but will work, sounds like you are getting a pre-built or similar and adding a GPU - most importantly check the power supply, for an i5-3470 w/ gtx 970 will need at least a decent 450w so it is pretty common to get a new PSU to feed the GPU the power it needs, something like the new CX 450 for $42 would do the job nicely. Rare to see it on sale directly from Corsair, cheers to them...

Thanks for your advice i really appreciate it...but as i am tight on budget...i have a 720p monitor.. it's old but i will upgrade it to a new 1080p monitor....so will the pc be able to gain playable fps on all title on high or very high setting..for me even 45 - 50 fps will work...so will the pc be good for 720p gaming? I have near about 250$

Yes, at 720p the system you outlined above will work on high settings at that resolution.

I had a i5-2500k and a EVGA GTX 950 FTW, I didn't game much but when I did I gamed at 1080p and medium settings with no real issues. I have the Ryzen R5-1600 now and still use the EVGA GTX 950 FTW.
My biggest complaint is being stuck with 8GB of DDR4 3000 memory. Even just browsing the internet with Windows 10 and any web browser (Edge, Fire Fox, Chrome) I run into memory problems constantly.

I just ordered 2x8GB DDR4 3000 CAS 16 memory to replace my 2x4GB DDR4 3000 CAS 15 memory and once I have 16 or 24GB of memory I feel I will have a nearly perfect computer for my needs.

Try to get 16GB if you can.

I like them both they both are slower now then when they were new because of several micro code updates they need to be secure but either will suit you well for 720p or even 1080p 60Hz gaming.
