Hello there!
I am looking into building a new relatively cheap gaming rig. I have built computers before but it has been a while and I haven't kept up with the technology. I am looking for it to be essentially a home made steam box. I plan on getting a media center case because it will serve the purpose of sitting under my tv and looking normal.
I am looking into silverstone media cases like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163257 . I was thinking an lga 1150 board. Are solid state drives affordable yet? I was browsing and it seems they aren't.
I suppose I should say my soft cap for building this computer is going to be about 500 dollars.
This is not something that is happening immediately so I suppose I am just looking for general opinions of current gen hardware ranging from AMD vs intel, to nvidia vs everyone else and beyond. I know this is super broad and I'm sorry. I suppose I'm just looking for a general overview of hardware as it stands right now and whatever anyone feels like contributing to the extinction of my ignorance would be appreciated.
