Hello Tom's,

I am looking to start doing some light gaming at LAN Parties and was looking for ideas on how to build a small portable box. I just need 720p Resolution with decent Frame rates. I am going to use a 500GB Seagate Hybrid HDD that I have laying around for the OS. I have a budget of $450 and this is what I have come up with so far.

AMD A10-6800k
Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 8GB DDR3-2133 CL9
Cooler Master Elite 130 mini-ITX
MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 motherboard
Corsair CX Series CX430M 430 Watt ATX Modular Power Supply

Solution
That RAM will eat up more than half your budget (it's ridiculously expensive and does nothing) , and you will hate life gaming on a 6800K. No reason to get a CX430 either. You might want to drop that and consider increasing your budget above $500. Maybe try something like this:PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Pentium G2120 3.1GHz Dual-Core Processor ($69.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock B75M-ITX Mini ITX LGA1155 Motherboard ($84.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 1GB Video Card ($108.98 @ SuperBiiz)...

The Pentium G2120 and a Radeon 7790 will dominate a 6800K, and no reason to get the ridiculously overpriced RAM either.

That seems reasonable but wouldn't a Dual Core hold up gaming even at lower resolutions?
