Hey,

So after deciding which Laptop I´m buying I decided to also build a Desktop e... I already built one 4 years ago but this time I decided to do it right and get some help from experts! ( Since the helped I received when deciding on a laptop was really good )

One thing is I never played around with clocking what so ever, but definately thinking about it for this new computer... so parts should be compatible with overclocking ( I´m a fast learner let´s just hope I don´t burn something on the way :-D )

This is the few specs I already have... they are not definite but from my knowledge are supposed to be very good

MotherBoard

ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution

Processor

Intel Core i7 920

Graphic Card

2x Geforce GTX 260 in SLI
specifically this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130433
for the following reasons:

* Core clock: 626MHz
* Stream Processors: 216 processing cores
* Memory Clock: 2106MHz (effective)

Thought about 6GB of DDR3 memory.. but this is where my knowledge really lacks... I know the motherboard supports up to 1333 naturally but up to 2000 OC ( which right now I don´t know how to do but I will )

I havn´t thought about other components yet but my main concerns as to not to mess up are :

Graphic Card 2x GTX260 listed above or 1 GTX285
Memory - 1333 MHZ? 2000? not sure since I don´t have any experiance with Overclocking yet
Power Supply?
Not sure about Cooling either right now
Hard Drive I guess will just be some 7200 RPM 600GB + standard

Thanks for the help!!

P.S this computer is intended toward gaming and should not cost more then $1600 ( more or less :-D )

Thanks for the reply... few questions 🙂

1st about the motherboard... looked it over and from what I understand

P6T6 WS Revolution - has more PCIe 2.0 16x slots and generally more extension slots ( and of course the options of tri-SLI ... which I won´t use so it dosn´t metter )

P6T Deluxe V2 - Better for overclocking?

With the P6T Deluxe V2 beind $70 cheaper.

About the Graphic Cards.... how much of a difference is it anyway?... is the 285 is almost as good as the 2x gtx 260 I might as well get that and upgrade in the future.. the thing is both mobo´s support 2 way SLI... so even if I get 2x gtx 260 now, I could always upgrade to 4x gtx 260 can´t I?

Memory, again, what would be the difference between 1333 and 1600 as the 2 of you suggest?... in performance and in installation ( if there is any )

HDD wise I´ll probably go for the WD Black 1tb ... very good price and WD has always been reliable for me.

Deluxe + 1 GTX 285 then sli later on. The gtx 285 would be great for any game made these days, when the money comes, you can add one. Also, what is the monitor resolution/inch.
