Hi there everyone,
I have had my current build for around 7 years or so and I am looking to upgrade. I really just want to start from scratch as I plan on selling my current one. To that end I am looking for parts advice with a roughly $2000 budget though I can be convinced to go a little higher if need be.
This will primarily be a gaming computer. I am not looking to overclock, stream, or do any other video stuff aside from watching them. I am looking to do primarily 1080p dual monitors, but if it can potentially support up to 2K dual that would be nice. (The dual is the important part as I can no longer live with one monitor)
AMD or Intel doesn't really matter to be especially since I know AMD came out with some real nice CPU's just recently. I have a slight bias for Nvidea cards compared to radeon though. I'm not really looking to go any higher than a 2080 right now. I don't really need peripherals, but if anyone has suggestions for monitors I'll take them just don't add them to the build cost. I intend on getting those later as I am currently OK with what I have. I'll probably salvage my Firecuda 1TB from my old build though and I will unfortunately need a copy of windows 10.
Those are the basic parameters. I just want a build that will last me for a good while without having to touch it. Any advice and help would be appreciated! My friend already offered to put whatever I got together
He also recommended the following build, but I wanted a second opinion. Thanks again!
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x $270
MOBO: MSI Carbon X470 $ 190
GPU: $700
CASE: Thermaltake Supressor F31 $110 (q500L)
PSU: CORSAIR HX Series, HX850 $169
RAM: HyperX Predator Black 32GB kit (HX433C16PB3K2/32) $194
HDD: x2 (ST2000DX002) $200
COOLER: CORSAIR HYDRO Series H115i $140
FANS: Corsair ML140 Pro LED $ 90
Total: $1,974
