Current Build:
ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 (Integrated Video)
2 gigs low profile ram
Ultra 550 Power Supply
Intel E2200
----------------------------------------------------
(Please keep in mind that I have a limited selection of motherboards/GPUs due to hardware compatibility issues with OSX86) My new build:
GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P INTEL P35 Core 2 New (Rev 2.1) (This and GA-EP35-DS4 are the newest motherboards fully compatible with a Hackintosh build. Unfortunately, it is PCI-E 1.0 X16
- I have managed to purchase a GA-EP35-DS3P for 78 dollars flat brand new no tax or shipping, still under manufacturers warranty, mobo supports (ddr 1066: pc8500/ddr 1100: pc8800/ddr 1150: pc9200/ddr 1200: pc9600)
I read many reviews about ddr2 performance memory and I am favoring:
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1100 (PC2 8800) $64.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231194
Contemplating E8400 $167.99 (Sale from 179.9 )/E8500 $189.99/E8600 $269.99/Q6600 $199.99/ or Q9550 $219.99 (Sale from $229.99):
- To be honest, I am heavily leaning towards Q9550 for that price vs performance. I use my build for anything from editing to gaming to encoding.
Video Card/GPU: Considering this will be the first performance video card I will purchase for myself, I am a bit overwhelmed. most recently the 4870 has become supported by osx86 and to be honest $230 on a video card is probably the most I will spend. With that said, I am considering a 4870 build by Sapphire:
SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 4870 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card 219.99 (Sale from 229.99)

As far as a power supply/PSU: I am looking for a modular psu with 650 watts: I am leaning towards this Antec model
Antec TruePower New TP-650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Retail $99.99 (Sale from 139.99)

Side note: I do own a raptor drive and will be recycling the drive.
Please give me any suggestions you may deem helpful. Thank you in advance.
