Hi, I'm building a new PC with a mixture of parts from an old PC and new ones bought online.
However, I have basic knowledge into PC building and need some help.

My main question is whether or not all these parts I've found are compatible together.
Here are the parts -
GPU
Case
RAM
Mother Board
PSU

Also, the remaining parts needed will be from my old computer, an AlienWare X51 R2, this includes the i5-4440 CPU and other things which I'm not really sure about, they should be found on the specs somewhere online.

Will all these parts be compatible with each other? if not, cold you give suggestions as to what I should do about it?

Another question is about the CPU, I am aware that the current CPU is not compatible with the Mother Board in question, however i will be getting a new CPU, I've looked at the i5-6600k, which i think is compatible with the Mother Board mentioned above.
Also, is it worth getting a new CPU? I have no knowledge of them and don't know how beneficial it would be for gaming.

I know this is long question sorry, but i really need some help and i figured it would be easier to have it all in one thread than multiple so thanks.

I will try and answer any questions you have as well as I can.

What you should do is to find the specifications for your computer.

SPeccy is a good tool to do this with.

THen put both your new and anticipated old components into PCPartPicker.com and see if it throws up any compatibility warnings.

You just can't reuse that cpu with the parts you chose. You can reuse motherboard/ram/cpu for the time being until getting new parts.

The ddr3 ram is not compatible. For what you mentione above as new do you need ddr4 ram.

for something red maybe this,

For the psu would i like to see a better example.something from tiers 1+2 in the next list,

a nice example from amazon would be this one,

if you can buy elsewhere also this,

Yeah as said you cannot reuse the cpu. If you want cheap i suggest the i5-4460, but then you need to change your motherboard to a z97/z87( any lga 1150 socket). If you want to keep your motherboard you need to get ddr4 ram and a 6th gen intel cpu (i5-6400 /i5-6500 or any lga 1151) your GPU will be compatible.
Yes upgrading to the 6600k is worth it, but if you want low-end then go with the i5-6500. If you go with the i5-6500 then you should get a h170 motherboard as z170 is extreme overkill. Any CPU (intel) with a K at the end, get a mobo that is Z (z97,z170,etc.) Without K disables overclocking and then you dont need an overclockable board. Your pc case is compatible!

Would you be able to suggest a build? based on whats already been said and if uncompatible suggest a similarly priced replacement?

Thanks

I do not know your budget, but you can't get a future proof pc without spending more than little. This is a rough build, you can replace the parts with your parts but beware that in this build, ddr4, lga1151 are compatible with each other. You can't put lga 1150 with ddr4 or lga 1151 with ddr3.
May i suggest: wait with the graphics card. Nvidia and amd will release in june. Since youre on a budget i suggest not blowing your precious 300+ dollars on a gtx 970. It is a ver nice card and i love nvidia cards, but amd will release the polaris 10 (R9 480x?) In early-mid june and it will beat the gtx 970 in performance, efficiency, and price (~250 USD). If you absolutely cannot wait, you could also consider the r9 380x or gtx 960 (4gb!). I hope i helped.

Reason why i posted the i5-6500 instead of thr i5-4460 is because the intel 6th gen is much more future proof than the 4th gen. I highly suggest going 6th gen (ddr4/lga 1151).
A 4th gen build:

The 6th gen is definitely worth a few extra bucks.
I myself just ordered a brand new pc. Its sitting here without a dedicated gpu, waiting for june gpu releases. It'll be worth it for sure.
-side note: apparently nvidia has made it a habit of stopping to fully support older generations of gpus when they release their new ones. For example the gtx 780ti has the same or better specs than a gtx 970. However, it is struggling to keep up with new games. (No hate, i am neutral when it comes to gpus. I have a gtx 960 atm but ill see what AMD has to offer!)

Also, with the cpu AND motherboards in these builds, you cannot overclock. Get a cpu with a K at the end (4690k,6600k,4790k,6700k) if you want to. Also get a Z motherboard (z87,z97,z170).
