I want to build a new pc for around $2000.00 USD. Biggest question is i7-5820k or i7-4790k? And this is how I'm stuck because I want the newest thing but I almost feel the newest isn't worth the price jump. Just so confused at this point lol.
Ths Pc will be used for Streaming (on Twitch), graphic arts, video editing, and gaming.

For 2k USD, I would buy this extremely powerful PC, this will satisfy your needs and more than that. (I assume you have monitor, keyboard, mouse and OS. If you need to buy them as well, the price obviously rises)

Now, before you see the build there are some things I would like to mention:

1) This beast is all about the graphics and performance. With 2x980 STRIX, there will be no game you won't be able to run at the highest settings, and you will not bottleneck the 4690k.

2) I've gone for liquid cooling, however good air-cooling in a decent cable-manged case, would also suffice - and is cheaper.

3) If you do not have monitor, case, OS etc. I would remove SLI, buy a cheaper EVGA PSU at around 750W, and for those money buy the...
Both of those platforms as substantially more expensive than the i7-4790K (and even more so than the i5-4690K) and the price jump is way out of line with the performance increase.

DDR4 is way more expensive than DDR3 RAM and right now is not a faster performer. X99 chipset motherboards are also more expensive than X97.

Edit to fix a typo.

First, which currency, 2000 what?

Secondly, what are your needs? Is gaming the most load your system will experience? Or do you need to be able to render, edit, compress and so on?

Your needs pretty much decides which CPU will give you the most value for your dollar.

Streaming games will be the biggest use for the pc.

You are right, the newest isnt worth the price jump for you, the i7 4790k will provide more than enough preformance, you can also get a cpu coller for overclocks. If you are unsure about the other parts i would suggest 16gb of ram with 1600-2100mhz, a gtx 980 and a good 80+ 600w psu (750w if you plan on adding another gpu later)

Well in that case, Sir, I'll highly suggest you avoid spending unnecessary money on i7-5820k. I say this, assuming you are like me and don't have unlimited cash - some do, however, and if you are in a position where money is not an issue, just buy the most expensive gear.

For your specific needs, I'll buy the 4790k, of the two you are suggesting, though even a 4690k should be sufficient. I have the 4690k and its a very, very powerful processor to a great price.

So as a conclusion:

If money is an issue: i5-4690k or i7-4790k (I still think the 4690k, will satisfy your needs and it is much cheaper)

If money is no issue: You might as well buy the i7-4960X. This processor will be massively overpowered and completely unnecessary for your needs but if you have tons of money, who cares?

4) This is perhaps a minor issue, but 8GB may prove to be a problem, if you stick to this build. If you have the cash I would go for 16GB, but it should not be necessary, thus it is a minor issue.
