[SOLVED] Building a new pc

Alright as the title states I’m building a new pc. And I’m not sure if I should go with 9600k or 9700k. The computer will be strictly for gaming only on a high refresh 1080p monitor. Are 2 extra cores worth the extra 140 bucks for the 9700k? I do stream however the computer I have now which is ryzen based will be used strictly for that. Thanks in advance

The current parts I have that came in already:
-Evga rtx 2070 XC Ultra gaming
-g skill 3200mhz trident z
-evga super nova 750 watt psu
-Corsair spec omega black and white
-Corsair hydro h100i
- crucial nvme 512gb ssd
-500gb Samsung sata ssd

So you are building a gaming system with Intel and using your Ryzen system as a dedicated streaming system? If so, the 9600K should be fine.

Although, you could hold out and wait for zen 2. Rumors that it will arrive in June or July and that they had an engineering sample beating an i9 at CES.

It's your money of course, but since you've already got the system, it might be worth consideration.

^True, and that was the Ryzen 5 beating the i9-9900K. (*in multi-threaded workload, not single-core)

Although, I did see a leak where a Matisse cpu appeared on userbenchmark. It was only clocked at something like 3.4ghz. From what I saw, someone took a ryzen 2700x and clocked it to the same clocks, I guess the single core performance showed about a 13% improvement on the newer cpu. If they can get them up towards 5ghz as they are saying, those things could be pretty mean.
