[SOLVED] Building A PC for friend. Need some advice please.

Hey guys I know this question is asked constantly but I'm looking for some advice for a build I'm doing for a friend. It's been a few years since I built one so i'm not exactly up to date on the parts that offer good value etc. His budget is $800-1000 not including monitor or peripherals. The PC will primarily be used for gaming but certainly does not have to run everything at the highest possible settings. I'm simply looking for the best performance i can get from the budget I was allocated. The system will mainly handle shooters like COD, Dayz, Insurgency etc. If anyone could point me in the right direction on parts it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. The PC Parts list gives a warning that there might need to be a bios update prior to using the cpu. Is this a realistic issue?

It is a realistic issue. Here's a very similar list, almost identical, but with an msi MAX board. The MAX line of msi boards is guaranteed third gen compatible out of the box.

There's a chance the board in the first list has a cpu less bios flash ability. But I think the extra few bucks for the msi board is well worth it. It's one of the most, if not the most recommended board for new builds. That I've seen.

The MSI MAX or that ASRock I used does support the 3rd Gen Ryzens out of the box so no issues.

used motherboard out of first build and chose a m-atx case accordingly,

also larger storage,

added a better cooler,not that stock is bad,but better cooler probably will help with boost clocks,
