I would recommend you don't try Rryzen CPU at first since no reviews is shown about the advantage and disadvantage of this CPU. Perhaps you should try the i5 or i7 Series.

I'm about to become a computer Sciences major, so nothing intense like video editing, but things related to the major.

Was thinking that but I won't start buying parts for at least a couple of days, so I'm hoping that will give time for some reviews to be published, and if they aren't looking good then that's the direction I'll be heading.

Here's a build that fits an i7 in. I'm not sure what you were doing with your RAM in that build.

In Response to WildCard's build:
I actually like this a lot more, only question is pertaining to the Compatibility Notes "The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6Gb/s ports are disabled." Do you think that this will have any effect on performance or just building it in general? Thanks for the help

For the list, it really depends on how you use your computer. If it is specifically for gaming and affordable budget, i7+1080 will be the best option. However, your list seems to be a mid-high level. So what I am thinking is i5 would be enough for that if you rely on multi-tasking calculation (e.g. ADOBE series, video editing, converting videos and photos etc.)

Although the price would be much higher than AMD, the stability and your PSU would not need that much. I am also a newbie for computer but I love looking different solutions for computer. I hope this may help you
