Hi, I'm currently an xbox one user (I know, disgusting) and have been a console user since I can remember, but I've always enjoyed PC gaming (CSGO, CoD4 etc. basic games) and never had anything against it so before you put me on a burning cross I thought I should tell you. Well anyways, I've got about $410 (3ish weeks worth of saving) and I'm going to sell my xbox at around $500ish with games etc on ebay putting me at around $900 and I'm interested in building a computer, I've got plenty of friends that have done it and only play pc and are willing to help me out only one problem, they are extremely AMD bias, which I dont have a problem with it's just I feel as if when I'm talking to them about it they're not exploring Intel/Nvidia options. But basically, I already have a 1080 60hz monitor so thats covered, but I'm thinking of buying a nice BenQ monitor thats around $250 100-144hz (dont remember exactly) But here's what I'm running into. I want to have a PC that can max out everything at at least 60 fps on 1080 (unless I get new monitor yadda yadda blah blah..) on pretty much every game I throw at it. I also would like to be able to edit/do graphics etc. (workstation stuff) and the i7 4790k is like $250 now at microcenter. I'm a bit clueless at this stuff but it has really been bugging me so if anyone can help me that would be great, not to mention my MAX budget is probably $1000. And I dont need an OS, Optical Drive or Network Adapter. Thanks and sorry for the long question.

Case is personal preference, i just like the old phantom style. if you need keyboard and mouse, just pick up the corsair dominator keyboard and mouse bundle for $25 - they do alright.
this will edit your videos like a beast, and the 960 covers everything at 1080p with ease.

I would get the 970, It is absolutely amazing for the price, I have one and settings are maxed out on everything. Also it runs extremely cool with little power

benab's build is probably the best for what your asking especially if you do move to a bigger res in the future. I would avoid the CX PSU as they have a history of unreliability (more so than other corsair series which are generally pretty good).

Highly recommend the XFX PSU from dasulman's build though.
